Enjoy an incredible week in the world's foremost sailing arena, this is the complete vacation for anyone wanting to learn to sail, enjoy the beautiful Caribbean and experience island adventures.  Arrive on the day prior to the start date and spend the first three nights at the Nanny Cay  Hotel where the sailing school is located with the first two days learning Basic Keelboat Certification on comfortable and steady IC 24's (converted J 24's). This boat is safe, swift, sturdy and spacious. Sail the first two days on these boats with just an hour in a classroom environment concentrating on terminology, parts of the boat, knots and theory.  Depart in the morning after your Basic Keelboat Courses and spend the next five days living aboard a 45 foot yacht with wonderful private cabin accommodations.  Not only will you receive Live Aboard Cruising & Bareboat Chartering Certification while sailing the beautiful waters of the Caribbean, you will also have the opportunity to explore many of the wonderful islands & experience different anchorages every night.   There is plenty of opportunity to snorkel, experience island life and just kick back and relax!   If you enjoy scuba diving we can work that in to the schedule for you as well.  Arrive back at Nanny Cay on the last day by noon and depart that afternoon.

This is a great opportunity to receive three levels of certification, Basic Keelboat, Live Aboard Cruising & Bareboat Chartering, all included in this fantastic sailing vacation!  However, if you are not interested in learning to sail but would like to be on the Live Aboard portion of this trip please contact us for pricing and we can arrange that for you, space permitting. Group size is 4-5 students per yacht so you recieve one on training while meeting sailors from around the world!

Once the hideaway of buccaneers and brigands, the islands now attract more of the sublime yachting type beckoned by steady trade winds, well-protected anchorages and a year-round balmy climate.  Tourist development has been limited by enlightened enviromental policy.  While the US Virgin Islands has pursued the tourist dollar, the British Virgin Islands have been keen to stay limey and out of the limelight.  Chiefly volcanic in origin, with the exception of Anegada, which is a coral and limestone atoll, most of the islands are grouped around the Sir Francis Drake Channel.  This body of water is named after the daring British adventurer who launched an attack against the Spanish from the islands in 1595.
