Spend three days and four nights under the stars camping & canoeing with other single travelers along the beautiful lower Wisconsin River in the Spring Green area. It meanders south through the center of Wisconsin, wide in most places and in the summer dotted with many islands, making it ideal for the recreational canoeists. The sandbars along the way offer great places to stop and swim on a hot day, picnic & fish. This beautiful stretch of river called Spring Green is ideal for easy paddling & camping. Just a few hours northwest of Chicago, the Wisconsin River provides a perfect escape that surrounds you with beautiful scenery and sounds. (5 minutes by car) on Saturday and/or the last day ($10)
:: We can rent you a sleeping bag ($15) otherwise you must
provide your own bad if you choose to use one
:: You are welcome to bring gear to go fishing- however you
must buy a fishing permit in town (10 minutes away) before
you can fish in the state reserve

Wisconsin River
The Lower Wisconsin is a river for people who like to travel and to take in the sights at a leisurely pace. River currents range from 3 to 5 miles per hour upstream, to only 1 to 2 miles per hour near Muscoda. Along its entire 92.3 miles there are no rapids or falls, making it ideal for recreational canoeists. State River System extends 95 miles from Sauk City to the confluence with the Mississippi River near Prairie du Chien and encompasses 79,275 acres of Southwestern Wisconsin. In the heart of this area is beautiful Spring Green. The river corridor protects bluffs, bottomland forests, backwaters, and 98 of Wisconsin’s 147 fish species. | |
